About

I was always interested in science in school because I wanted to be a researcher. To achieve this goal, I chose science as a subject in plus 2 and after that, I enrolled in the B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology course at Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, and secured second rank in the entire course with 79% (First Division with Honours).

During 3 years of graduation, I learned about various techniques in Biotechnology, and in order to gain more practical knowledge about this subject I pursued M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, and became University First Rank Holder (Gold Medalist) by securing 8.10 CGPA on 10 point scale.

During my master's, I interned at CSIR-NEIST Jorhat, Assam, where I attended Eminent Scientist Lectures, special sessions, and project-specific classes, did elocution video, poster designing, and essay writing, assignments, project works assigned by a mentor, and completed a summer research project completion report. As a part of my M.Sc. dissertation work, I wrote a review paper on the role of the microRNA network in innate immune regulation, and I also contributed to a book chapter on Human papillomavirus (HPV)- molecular epidemiology of infection and disease, which is accepted in the Taylor and Francis book Translational Animal Research: Volume 4: Biomedical Research, Medicine, and Disease.

With the desire to make a difference in science, I ventured into research and currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Biotechnology. My research domain is HIV Biology. In my PMRF proposal, I have included a novel project entitled "Characterization of molecular activities of HIV-1 envelope-derived Topoisomerase II beta kinase in HIV-1 reverse transcription and tat-mediated transactivation." Since I have a keen interest in science and research, I'm delighted I've made it this far and would like to contribute more in the field of virology.
